JBG-2 Sp. z o.o., al. Jana Pawła II 46, 44-240 Żory, Poland Office:If you are planning to modernize your home's heat source or build a new house, you are likely wondering if there are subsidies available for photovoltaics and heat pumps in 2023. The good news is that both photovoltaic installations and heat pump purchases can be subsidized. All you need to do is take advantage of the support programs.
The most popular form of subsidy for photovoltaics is the government program "Mój Prąd 5.0." This program is coordinated by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The aim of the program is to increase the production of electricity from domestic photovoltaic micro-installations in Poland.
The fifth edition of this subsidy program launched in April 2023. "Mój Prąd 5.0" is very popular because the subsidies for photovoltaic installations have been increased. The maximum subsidy amount in the fifth edition of the program is 35,000 PLN and depends on the type and scope of the investment.
In the fifth edition of the program, the subsidy beneficiary has the opportunity to receive part of the costs of the photovoltaic installation along with other devices, such as heat pumps, energy storage systems, or energy management systems.
The subsidy is intended for individuals who produce electricity for their own use. The amount of energy produced by a given photovoltaic installation must not exceed 10 kW. The program provides for the refund of costs depending on the energy source. The subsidy can be obtained for:
Standalone PV installation: up to 6,000 PLN subsidy.
Ground source heat pumps (ground/water, water/water): Possibility of obtaining a subsidy up to 28,500 PLN.
Additionally, for consumers who have already received a subsidy for a photovoltaic installation and plan to expand their system and switch to net billing, an additional subsidy of 2,000 PLN is provided for the photovoltaic installation. Subsidies for other elements remain the same as in the previously mentioned cases.
The subsidy in the "Mój Prąd 5.0" program applies to qualified costs incurred from February 1, 2020, and beneficiaries of previous editions of the program can also apply for the subsidy.
A subsidy for the heat pump alone can also be obtained under the "Czyste Powietrze" program. The amount allocated for the subsidy is up to 103 billion PLN, and the subsidy can be up to 66,000 PLN in the basic tier and up to 135,000 PLN (in the maximum tier), but not more than 50% of the qualified costs.
The next edition of the "Czyste Powietrze" program started in January 2023. The process related to formalities has been shortened, and the submission of applications is conducted on a continuous basis.
The program provides subsidies for the replacement of inefficient energy sources with solid fuels and the purchase of a heat pump.
